René Lalique developed his own style, inspired by nature and the Art Nouveau movement. He is regarded as one of the foremost Art Nouveau designers.
At the Paris World Fair in 1900 his work achieved world wide recognition. During this period Lalique developed an interest in glass. As well as goblets, relief panels and sculptures, he produced his first perfume flask.
